Books About General Writing

If you plan to write stories, essays or memoir to share with others, it's worth some time, effort and study to learn to do it well. Sure, "if you can talk, you can write," but there's a little more to it than that if you want others to read and enjoy your work. You need to learn the basics of plot and scenes and a bit of character development. Details, description, dialogue, grammar, punctuation, it sounds quite daunting. It needn't. The skills are the same whether you are writing fiction or fact, so dig in, read a bit, study a bit and write a lot.
